In short
IPO details come from the exchanges, SEBI filings and company offer documents. GMP is an unofficial figure from public grey-market trackers. Allotment results come straight from the registrar to your phone.
Where each number comes from
| In the app | Source |
|---|---|
| Company, board (Mainboard or SME), open and close dates, price band, lot size, issue size | The public IPO pages and data feeds of NSE and BSE (including BSE SME), and SEBI's list of filed offer documents |
| Subscription (overall and by category) | The exchanges' own bidding data while an IPO is open. Where an exchange publishes no category figures, the app shows what is available |
| GMP and how it moved | Public grey-market trackers. Unofficial, and not issued by any exchange |
| Listing price, listing gain, current gain | Exchange price data. The listing price is the opening price on the listing day, and gain is measured against the issue price |
| Allotment, refund and listing dates | Confirmed dates from the exchanges when available. Until then they are worked out from the close date using SEBI's standard timeline and are labelled as expected |
| Offer document (prospectus) | A link to the filing on SEBI's or the exchange's website |
| Company logos | Taken from the cover of the filed offer document. They belong to the companies |
| Allotment status of your PANs | The registrar of that IPO: KFin Technologies, MUFG Intime (Link Intime), Bigshare Services or Maashitla Securities. Your phone asks the registrar directly. For other registrars you can mark the status yourself |
How fresh it is
- IPO details and subscription are refreshed automatically through the day, and more often while an IPO is open.
- GMP is refreshed about once an hour and a new reading is kept only when the value changes.
- Share prices of listed IPOs are updated during market hours. Some SME prices run about 15 minutes behind.
- Allotment results are fetched at the moment you tap Check.
What N/A means
The source has not published that number, or we could not match it with confidence. It is better to show N/A than to guess. A GMP of ₹0 is different: it is a real reading that the grey market priced the IPO at nil.
